We will work with you to adjust your start/end time so you get the best view of the sunset before heading back to the dock. (April - July sunsets vary from 7:00-8:00pm.)

2 Hour MARINA TOUR :
Calm seas ahead!
The marina of Marina del Rey, CA is North America's largest man-made small-craft harbor and is home to an estimated 4,600+ boats - from Kayaks to Mega-Yachts. Once a salt marsh fed by fresh water from Ballona Creek, Marina del Rey began as an estuary frequented by fishermen and duck hunters. The duck hunters may be gone, but you'll see plenty of fishing rods cast all along the shoreline of the marina. Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and a variety of birds can be seen lazing about on the docks and rock jetties. You’ll see many bird species (Herons, Egrets, Gulls, Pelicans, Cormorants, Osprey, Mallards and other ducks, etc)
Be sure your camera is handy as we will pass by some of the many well-known yachts docked in Marina del Rey.
Passing by Del Rey Landing (the fuel dock) is always fun because you never know which Mega-Yacht (up to 100m) will be at dock. These Mega-Yachts are usually just visiting Marina del Rey for a few days … then continuing on their way to other exotic destinations.

3 or 4 Hour HALF DAY
Come Sail Away - Marina Del Rey | Venice | Santa Monica
First, a bit of sightseeing around the marina. With over 4000 slips of small kayaks to mega yachts, Marina del Rey is one of the largest small craft harbors in the world. Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and several bird species can be seen lazing about on the docks and rock jetties.
Then we’ll hoist sails and head into the bay, sailing past Venice Pier and the Santa Monica Boardwalk toward The Santa Monica Pier and its famed Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster with spectacular views of the Getty Center and Malibu coastline before heading back to the Marina.
Enjoy a show from some of Poseidon’s most trusted companions and messengers - the graceful Dolphin! Although there are several types of dolphins in Southern CA, the Common Dolphin does not migrate so these beautiful animals can often be seen year-round. No guarantees of course … these elusive wild sea animals definitely have their own schedule!
Bringing the kids? Ask the captain to head south toward Redondo Beach / King Harbor. We can check out the sea lions lazing about on their own 700 sq. ft. barge in King Harbor’s main channel.

6 or 8 Hour FULL DAY
Want to make a day of it?
After a nice (~1.5-2 hour) sail along the Santa Monica Boardwalk and Malibu coastline, we’ll anchor off Malibu and pull out the Cobb Premier grill, GoSun Solar Oven and/or JetBoil Genesis Basecamp propane stove for your BYO steaks, burgers, etc.
Or maybe head south toward the rocky cliffs of the Palos Verdes peninsula (~2 hours). We can grab a mooring along the way in Redondo Beach and pull out the Cobb Premier grill, GoSun Solar Oven and/or JetBoil Genesis Basecamp propane stove for your BYO steaks, burgers, etc.
Sorry, our Commercial Insurance does not allow swimming or other off-boat activities. And …the Pacific Ocean is chilly. Brrrrrr!!!
