FAQ's -
Do you allow pets -
- We love when our furry friends visit, we only ask that you be respectful of other guests, clean up after them and observe leash laws when here.
Do I need boating experience to drive a pontoon?
- No, prior boating experience is not required in order to rent a pontoon boat. Our pontoon boats are very easy to use and our waters are easy to navigate. There is land on both sides of the bay and the waters are quite shallow. We provide top of the line vessels and you won’t find a nicer boat rental around Destin or Fort Walton Beach.
I was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, and want to operate a boat in Florida. Do I need a license?
In order to operate a motorboat of ten (10) horsepower or greater, Florida law requires anyone who was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 to successfully complete an approved boating safety course and obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card issued by the FWC.
Florida does not have a “boating license.” The Boating Safety Education Identification Card is proof of successful completion of the educational requirements and is valid for life.
(If in person, you need to arrive 45 min to 1 hour prior to departure.)
Can we take the boat to Crab island?
- Yes, you can rent our pontoon boats to reach Crab Island, as well as the entire Destin and Fort Walton Beach area. Destiny Water Adventures is only a short drive to Crab Island!
Are we allowed to bring alcohol and food?
- Yes. Food and drinks are absolutely allowed on the boats, and we actually provide coolers for you! Just keep in mind that Florida’s law requires boat operators to remain under .08 blood alcohol level. If you need a designated driver we also have Captains for hire. There are also vendors near Crab island that provide food and beverages.
Can we take the boat into the Gulf of Mexico?
- No. Even as a master captain of ten years I would feel unsafe attempting an ocean voyage on a small craft. The waters in the Gulf near Destin and the East Pass can get very rough and high seas make ocean attempts extremely dangerous.
Do you charge for parking?
- No. We have free parking right near your boat pick-up location. No traffic. No lines.
How old do I need to rent a boat?
- Boat renters must be 21 years old with valid I.D. and major credit card. This is required, and there are no exceptions to this rule.
Weather policy on boat rentals?
- We do not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The Captain will assess the weather and should it be determined the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. If a trip is canceled by us for any reason, every effort will be made to reschedule the trip during your stay. If you are unable to reschedule, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund. Every effort will be made to run tours as advertised. Should we have to amend or alter your tour due to extraneous circumstances, tickets remain non-refundable on tours taken.
