MA: no requirements (NASBLA safety course highly encouraged)
ME: A NASBLA certified boater safety course is REQUIRED by the state of Maine for operators born after January 1, 1999. Boat US offers free courses online and we recommend the curriculum for the state of Maine. The course takes 2-3 hours to complete, is NASBLA certified, and once you pass the test the certificate is accepted by several states via reciprocity.
NH: A NASBLA certified boater safety course is REQUIRED by the state of New Hampshire for the operation of any boat/PWC over 25 hp. Although the state of NH offers boating licenses for a fee as well as 14 day temporary certificates, Boat US offers free courses online and we recommend the curriculum for the state of Maine. The course takes 2-3 hours to complete, is NASBLA certified, and once you pass the test the certificate is accepted by the state of NH.
Please plan to take the online course and pass the test well in advance of your rental date. Proof of completion is required 48 hours prior to the start of your rental.

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
