What is the Boater Education Card?

You Must Carry the Card

Vessel operators who are required to have the Virginia Boater Card must carry the card on board the vessel and have it available for inspection by an enforcement officer. Not carrying your Virginia Boater Card when it is required can result in a fine.



Reciprocity

For visiting boaters, all states, territories, and provinces will recognize boating education cards that meet NASBLA requirements and Canadian Pleasure Craft Operator Cards that meet Transport Canada’s requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

**Water sport** :

Pohick bay is good place to make water sport, may need to learn how to play and what is key safety before have water sport!



I have tube, all in one ZUP board for free with your rental.

In August 2019, just bought new ZUP board which is really fun and easy to play,



Suggest you study, watch and learn how to use Zup board video at youtube called Zup Board At Somerset before come on board. It is really cool and fun for this water sport. And it is easy to ride on than knee board and wake board I had before.



The key for good ZUP boarding is that the boat speed should keep at 10 mph, High speed will make board jump at water, use SIMRAD GPS to monitor your boat speed, to control your boat speed at 8~12 mph while tubing and ZUP boarding.

Please learn how to use Navionics/boating app from YouTube. It is very very important that keep boat in channel always, not go to any shallow water area, and is is very powerful tool that you can use it to show boat speed.

** Fuel cost***



Option One: fill full at fuel dock if Columbia Marina fuel dock is opening.



Option Two: Pay cash via Zelle to me,



The fuel cost count is this:



One engine hour cost 6 gallons, so we count total engine hours before and after your boating, then your fuel cost is: your engine hours x 6 gallons x gas price (may $4.79, we count current day's gas price),



For example, if your engine hours is 4 hours, total fuel cost is: 4 hours x 6 gallons x $4.79, it is $114.96



Notes: difference engine HP have difference engine hours gallons, my boat is 180 HP, i asked another boat owner who has 300 HP engine, their engine hours fuel will be 22 gallons per hour.
