The boat

The Reel Thrills Too is a 2510' Parker Sportfisherman powered by a 350 horsepower Mercruiser Inboard/Outboard engine. It can reach speeds of up to 30 knots.We specialize in fishing, sightseeing, island tours, beach parties and offshore trips. We also offer evening sunset cruises.

The captain is an amateur historian and naturalist and can tell you all about the wildlife encountered as well as the Cape Ann towns of Essex,Rockport,Ipswich and Gloucester -America’s oldest seaport!

The boat is large enough to provide a safe, stable ride and many fun times. However, it is a small enough boat to allow it to maneuver in tight or shallow estuary areas.



We are equipped with electronics, including GPS, Radar, Color Fish Finders, VHF Radio, Stereo, Cell phones, etc. Some of the vessels other features are a marine head, sink with freshwater, bunks, and weather enclosure.We Provide Coolers and ice.



We are also equipped with a Live Well, Salt Water Washdown, Fresh Water Washdown, Electrodyne Lobster Hauler and Davit, Outriggers, and Gin Pole for getting those monster fish on the boat.



We carry full Coast Guard safety gear.

Captain Ted Marshall, a lifelong fisherman, is the owner and operator of Agawam Boat & Fishing Charters. He has enjoyed taking passengers down the Essex River and surrounding waters for fishing and pleasure cruises for more than 20 seasons. Captain Ted is a USCG licensed 100 ton Master Mariner who was introduced to fishing at an early age by his grandfather. Later, he developed his love of the marine world by spending time with Henry Oaks, a retired Sea Captain and outdoorsman extraordinaire. Captain Ted earned a degree in Geology & Environmental Science and went on to work in the Marine Supply business. Captain Ted is a commercial striped bass and tuna fisherman. For 11 years he owned and operated Anchor Mooring & Marine Service in the Essex River. As a USCG licensed Captain and member of the National Ski Patrol, Captain Ted is certified in First Aid, CPR, and outdoor emergency care certification. Captain Ted enjoys utilizing a variety of methods for experienced anglers to catch fish throughout the season. He particularly enjoys introducing children to fishing and taking families out for adventures. Captain Ted “The River Man” has spent every summer of his life on the Essex River and surrounding waters. He lives in Essex with his wife Vicky and his daughter Alexandra who enjoy spending family time on the water.

This boat belongs to a Commercial Owner, an independent boat rental company. A Commercial Owner is an independent, Boatsetter-approved boat rental company who provides their own insurance to their guests.


A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
